JOB PURPOSE

To promote and sell the Company’s products to the target Customers with the view of achieving the objectives of the Division.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

The job is satisfactorily performed when:

  • Calls to doctors and pharmacies are completed effectively and consistently.
  • Training tools and information are correctly, adequately and appropriately utilized.
  • All reports are accurate and timely.
  • Sales Achievement.
  • Sensitivity to confidential data is maintained.
  • Record keeping is efficient.
  • Superior trade and supplier relationships are developed and maintained.
  • Sufficient knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures is demonstrated.
  • The extent to which a satisfactory working relationship is encouraged and developed with all employees as espoused and guided by Group and Company Values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTIONAL:

  1. Arrange appointments with doctors and hospital medical teams, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular ‘cold’ calling
  2. Make presentations and offer training to doctors, practice staff, and nurses in GP surgeries, and hospital medical practitioners. Presentations may take place in medical settings during the day or may be conducted in the evenings at a local venue.
  3. Organize conferences for doctors and other medical/pharmaceutical staff.
  4. Attain monthly sales targets on assigned routes.
  5. Ensure that routes are properly serviced and that key supplier products are visible and/or available where required.
  6. Execute agreed sales and marketing plans.
  7. Plan work schedules and weekly and monthly timetables. This may involve working with the area sales team and suppliers or discussing future targets with the brand manager.
  8. Regularly attend company/supplier meetings, technical data presentations, and briefings.
  9. Keep up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the Company and Suppliers, and interpret, present, and discuss this data with health professionals during presentations.
  10. Monitor and report on competitor activity and products.
  11. Continuous expansion and exploration of opportunities to encourage sales growth with new and existing customers.
  12. Develop strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and discuss with contacts in the medical and health sector.
  13. Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field, anticipating potential negative and positive impacts on the business and adapting strategy accordingly.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Report any hazards which are identified to direct Manager/HR Officer.
  2. Ensure the application of and adherence to established HSE measures and procedures to ensure the well-being of themselves and employees

QUALITY ASSURANCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  1. Adhere to the company’s quality & customer service standards and procedures.
  2. Support continuous improvement through reporting non-conformance, customer complaints & process improvements to immediate supervisor/manager.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Keep detailed records of all contacts
  2. Comply with reporting templates or processes required by either the supplier and/or internally
  3. Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company.

Junior Brand Manager – Pharmaceutical Division

SUPERVISES:

Nil

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of tertiary level qualifications in Medical Sciences, Marketing, Management or related fields
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the health industry, preferably in Medical Sales/Marketing.
  • Or relevant combination of training and experience
