JOB PURPOSE

To educate medical professionals and potential users on Baxter/Vantive products and provide follow up services with the view of achieving the sales objectives of the Division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTIONAL:

  1. Work alongside medical professionals.
  2. Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers’ needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  3. Attend sales and trade meetings, and read related publications in order to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
  4. Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales and expand business
  5. Attain and if possible exceed annual sales targets
  6. Keep up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals during presentations
  7. Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  8. Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  9. Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
  10. Initiate sales campaigns and follow marketing plan guidelines in order to meet sales expectations.
  11. Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
  12. Complete product and development training as required.
  13. Consult with medical personnel regarding technical problems with products.
  14. Study information about new products so that equipment and supplies can be accurately depicted and proper recommendations made.
  15. Arrange for installation and commissioning of products.
  16. Arrange appointments with doctors and hospital medical teams for medical meetings, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular ‘cold’ calling
  17. Train doctors and nurses on the Company’s products
  18. Train patients and their families at hospital and at home on Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)products
  19. Follow up with patients to monitor response to treatments related to PD
  20. Expand and grow Peritoneal Dialysis program

 

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  1. Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff

 

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Ensure the application of and adherence to established HSE measures and procedures to ensure the well-being of all employees and the Company’s customers.
  2. Report on incidents and/or accidents as necessary to direct Supervisor/Manager and HSSE, Fleet & Maintenance Manager

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  1. Adhere to the company’s quality & customer service standards and procedures.
  2. Support continuous improvement through reporting non-conformance, customer complaints & process improvements to immediate supervisor/manager.

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Manage budgets (for catering, outside speakers, conferences, hospitality, etc.)
  2. Keep detailed records of all contacts and prepare monthly patient census.
  3. Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company

  1. MS Office
  2. Safety Gear (PPE) for plant/warehouse use…shoes, ear plugs and safety glasses
  3. Tablet
  4. Cell Phone
  5. Email software
  6. Vehicle

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Registered Nurse
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the health industry, preferably in Medical Sales/Marketing.
  • Or relevant combination of training and experience
