JOB PURPOSE
To educate medical professionals and potential users on Baxter/Vantive products and provide follow up services with the view of achieving the sales objectives of the Division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNCTIONAL:
- Work alongside medical professionals.
- Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers’ needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Attend sales and trade meetings, and read related publications in order to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
- Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales and expand business
- Attain and if possible exceed annual sales targets
- Keep up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals during presentations
- Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
- Initiate sales campaigns and follow marketing plan guidelines in order to meet sales expectations.
- Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
- Complete product and development training as required.
- Consult with medical personnel regarding technical problems with products.
- Study information about new products so that equipment and supplies can be accurately depicted and proper recommendations made.
- Arrange for installation and commissioning of products.
- Arrange appointments with doctors and hospital medical teams for medical meetings, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular ‘cold’ calling
- Train doctors and nurses on the Company’s products
- Train patients and their families at hospital and at home on Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)products
- Follow up with patients to monitor response to treatments related to PD
- Expand and grow Peritoneal Dialysis program
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT:
- Ensure the application of and adherence to established HSE measures and procedures to ensure the well-being of all employees and the Company’s customers.
- Report on incidents and/or accidents as necessary to direct Supervisor/Manager and HSSE, Fleet & Maintenance Manager
QUALITY ASSURANCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Adhere to the company’s quality & customer service standards and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement through reporting non-conformance, customer complaints & process improvements to immediate supervisor/manager.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage budgets (for catering, outside speakers, conferences, hospitality, etc.)
- Keep detailed records of all contacts and prepare monthly patient census.
- Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Registered Nurse
- At least 5 years’ experience in the health industry, preferably in Medical Sales/Marketing.
- Or relevant combination of training and experience
